If the budget’s tight, we can suggest a similar-performance alternative that’s more affordable.”

They leave 60cm of prep space next to hobs for condiments while cooking; under-sink areas are split into high and low cabinets – the lower one fits a washing machine, the higher one has drawers for cleaning supplies. The team first studied residents’ habits: mostly young couples who love baking on weekends, but cook quick meals on weeknights after work. So the design direction became “minimalist European style + powerful storage.” Cabinets use Italian-imported light grey laminate boards – smooth and easy to clean, with hidden handles for a neat look. Full-length wall cabinets with soft-closing hydraulic doors operate quietly, so late-night noodle cooking won’t disturb the next room.
The real genius is in the storage solutions. Next to the hob, a “drawer set” was installed: the top small drawer holds cutlery; the middle wide drawer, divided by partitions, fits woks of different sizes; the deepest bottom drawer is for stockpots, with a damping mechanism to stop it slamming shut. Under the sink, it’s even smarter: the left side has a “pull-out basket” for cleaning products and cloths – just pull it out, no bending required. The right side leaves space for a small steriliser, saving countertop room.
A bad cabinet design makes retrieving pots a hassle, but Erste’s design puts everything within reach. One owner noted: “My son can help with cookies on weekends – the oven and flour jar are right next to each other, saving so much time. The biggest surprise? We thought we could only fit 4 bowls, but now there’s space for festival dinner plates too – that’s a full 30% more storage!”
